MOSTAP Sampling

MOSTAP sampling is a technique used to obtain high-quality, undisturbed soil samples for geotechnical investigations. The MOSTAP (Monster Steek Apparaat) soil sampler is designed to recover continuous core samples from specific depths with minimal disturbance, using a CPT pusher system.

This method is particularly useful for profiling and material identification, as well as laboratory tests such as moisture content, Atterberg limits, bulk density, shear tests, oedometer tests, triaxial tests, and more.

Standards Compliance

ISO 22475-1:2021(en) Geotechnical investigation and testing – Sampling methods and groundwater measurements – Part 1: Technical principles for the sampling of soil, rock and groundwater.

Advantages

  1. High-quality samples – The fixed piston sampler uses a proven technique to minimize soil disturbance, which is crucial for geotechnical analysis.
  2. Different sample sizes – The sampler can collect samples with diameters of 35 mm, 65 mm, and 70 mm.
  3. Sample depth – It can retrieve samples from specific depths.
  4. Versatility – Suitable for various soil types, including granular and cohesive soils.
  5. Minimal contamination – The design minimizes contact with the operator.
